Westmoore Jaguars – 2021 Pigskin Preview Defense Feature – Presented by Rib Crib

Tristan Aduddell #13

Westmoore Jaguars
Head Coach: Lorenzo Williams
2020 Record: 6-5

Defense
Coach Lorenzo Williams is excited about the attitude and potential of his defense. The Jaguars allowed 27 or more points in nine games in 2020. That number must come down for the Jaguars to move up in the district standings. Noseguard Bashon Bacy (6-3, 280, Jr.) shed weight and is in great shape to make a difference inside. His interior pass rushing presence can be a game changer for the defense. Three transfers from Carl Albert will have an immediate impact for the Jaguars. DeAngelo Shanks (6-0, 215, Sr.) has already impacted the team with his lead by example mentality. Shanks can pressure the quarterback from different areas on the field at weakside linebacker. Miles Lewis (5-9, 175, Sr.) and Xazavier Ware (6-2, 185, Sr.) are both in the mix to start in the secondary, Lewis likely as the nickel back with Ware at one of the safeties. Mykel Patterson-McDonald (5-10, 170, So.) could be the next star for Westmoore at corner. Patterson-McDonald’s skills included a 36-inch vertical jump and a blazing 4.4 time in the 40. He shutdown some of the top receivers in the state as a freshman. Andrew Cerney (5-11, 190, Jr.), Kazeyn Bird (5-11, 190, Jr.) and Tristan Aduddell (5-11, 180, Sr.) are all sure tacklers in the rotation at linebacker. Talon Pierce (6-3, 240, Sr.) a transfer from California hit a growth spurt and has moved from running back to defensive end and tight end. Williams praised Pierce for his constant motor. Devon Simmers has improved his footwork in the offseason and will figure into the mix at end.
