2025 Westmoore Jaguars Football Preview – Presented by Premier Healthcare

WESTMOORE JAGUARS

Coach: DAVID WHITE
2-9

OFFENSE

After the 2-9 season a year ago, head coach David White and the coaching staff are focused on getting the younger players up to speed and coaching the veterans into leaders. With a few new faces on the coaching roster, they are doing just that. “Going into year two, we have a young team and looking to find leaders who want to make a difference in the program. Had some changes on staff and brought some really quality coaches who are both good coaches on the fiend and mentors off,” said coach White. Only two starters make their return to the offensive unit for the Jags. One position the team is confident will be effective this season is the wide receiver position. Tommalik Benson (5-8, 155, So.) is a dynamic player who exploded onto the scene last year. Benson brings toughness, athleticism and a competitive spirit to both sides of the ball. Starting as a freshman in Class 6A-1 isn’t easy, but Benson made it look like a natural fit. Tay Herlong (5-8, 150, Sr.) is another WR who will be a difference maker for the Jags. His explosiveness off the line and ability to get open will help the team move the ball. Also look for Anthony Norris (6-2, 170, Jr.) who is the largest target with the receiving corps and will have success going up for the 50/50 balls. Expect a good mix of run/pass in the new Jaguar offense.

DEFENSE

There will be several new faces dotting the lineup for Westmoore on the defensive side of the ball. Benson will go both ways playing corner on defense. Last season as a freshman Benson was named All-District thanks to his four interceptions and is widely considered one of the, if not the best CB in his grade. The coaching staff will run an odd front with a mix of zone and man pressure. The coaching staff consists of Dustin Finn, Cole Ramsey, Aaron Rigsby, Jeremy Harper, Dylan Hopson, Keonte Daniels, and Cam Durant. Expect a renewed devotion to excellence from the players and coaches as they enter the second season under coach White and what could be the turning point for the program moving forward.
