Westmoore High School’s Carlos Pardo is a senior this year and a member of the varsity
football team. As a starting offensive lineman, Pardo has only allowed one sack in two
years.
Coach Williams said of Pardo, “he does all the little things right and is a great kid.”
Pardo has multiple offers to play at the next level, but before he takes his talents to college,
Pardo wants to make his final year of prep football one to remember.
“What I enjoyed most about being on this team is being able to enjoy just spending time
with my teammates and getting to know them better throughout the years. I’m really just
excited about getting back on the field and putting dudes on the ground again. What I love
most about this group is that we fight for each other, and we stand up for each all the time.
This is also one of the most hard-working group of guys I’ve ever played with,” said Pardo.
Being a student-athlete at WHS is something Pardo is proud of.
“It’s a great place to be at especially when you’re going to play sports because people who
usually play a sport here at Westmoore are known for being a really good athlete for their
sport. Before playing football I’ve always loved playing soccer. When I came into my
seventh-grade year my middle school had no soccer, so I decided to try out for football.
After the first day of pads, I fell in love with the sport,” said Pardo.
The big man said he loves the strength and conditioning aspect of football, but in the
classroom his favorite subject is math.
Pardo said everyone should watch running back Matt Evans and left guard Cheii Larney
this season.
“I want to be remembered as the team who will go to state after having two bad years,” said Pardo.
