Westmoore’s Ambrea Grant – Mom Spotlight – Presented by Guarantee Abstract Co.

Parents play a big role in the lives of student-athletes. Not only do they help them get to practice and to games, they are also their child’s biggest cheerleader. Ambrea Grant says that she and her husband decided early on that they were going to make their children’s sports a priority.

“I can count on one hand the number of games we’ve missed over the years,” she said. “We decided as parents back to little league when they became involved in sports we would support them in every way we could.  Everything from team meals, to travel ball, events and team bonding we are there for it. Our home has always been open to our kids’ friends to come and hang out, eat, play and sometimes rest. Having them all around through the years has helped us maintain the closeness and stay involved.”

Grant has four children, three of whom have already graduated from high school.

“Jay is a senior at Evangel University in Missouri,” she said. “He is a broadcast communications major, plays football, and is an assistant football coach at his old high school. Garrett graduated from Westmoore and played at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. After taking a year off due to the pandemic, he helps run our landscaping business. He plans to return to school next spring. Our daughter Rylee is a junior at the University of Missouri pursuing a forensic pathology degree. Our youngest, Kaibren, is a senior at Westmoore High School. He plays football and runs track and plans to continue his athletic career at college next year.”

Ambrea has served as the Westmoore Football Booster Club President for the past three years and she still serves in that role. She says that the Westmoore school district as a whole has been a great place for her and her family.

“Westmoore welcomed us and our kids like we had always been here,” she said. “There are teachers, faculty, and coaches that love our children and it shows. From the arm around the shoulder, making time to speak with them, and checking up on them, the culture at Westmoore is strong in the family. Once a Jag, always a Jag.
