When Jaelyn Morvay got her first taste of volleyball, she knew almost immediately it was the sport for her. Now a senior at Westmoore High School, Morvay said she grew up playing
a different sport on the same court.
“I played basketball growing up but once I started playing volleyball I fell in love with the sport,” said Morvay.
The senior said there are many reasons why being a student-athlete at Westmoore High is great, but for Morvay, her teammates are the top reasons she loves being part of the team. “Westmoore High takes pride in academics and athletics and motivates us to do our best everyday so we can be successful. My teammates and the relationships I have made with them have been the best part of Westmoore volleyball. I love how close we are on and off the court, we aren’t only teammates, but best friends,” said Morvay.
The team won their season opener against Yukon and Morvay said she’s excited to see what they can accomplish this season. “I am excited about our culture change and to play with my returning teammates, as well as new ones. I’m also excited to see all the preseason work translate into our game play and to overcome tough challenges with my volleyball family throughout the season. A few players
to watch this season are Gracelyn Skaggs (SR), Olivia Branum (SO), and Sadie Arnold (FR),” said Morvay.
Also involved in National Honor Society, senior class STUCO, and FCA, Morvay said her favorite subject is math and she loves all of her teachers.
