After putting up an impressive 18 wins last year, Westmoore basketball and head coach Todd Millwee are eager for what’s to come. “With several key players back and the improvement of younger players, the Jags are looking to make a deep postseason run,” Millwee said. Graduating players like USAO’s Zach Hays and UCO’s Evan Barber will make that a tougher task, but Millwee is confident in his returning talent. Guard Gavin Loper (6-3, Sr.) has led the Jaguars in assists the past two years and led in rebounds and defensive stops last year. He also finished second for the Jags in 3-point percentage last year and holds an offer from Saint Mary. “Gavin is a high-IQ player and a great leader. He knows how to make his teammates better and is an excellent defender,” Millwee said. Guard Ivan Antwi Donkor (6-4, So.), a promising underclassman, looks to bring elite positional size the floor. “Ivan can do it all. He is 6-4 with a 6-8 wingspan. Ivan is a good defender, rebounder and has developed good offensive skills,” Millwee said. “He will turn lots of heads this year.” Guard Jayden Thomas (6-0, Sr.), meanwhile, has grown into a crucial role in the locker room and on the court. “Jayden is entering his fourth year in the program and has become one of the main leaders of the team,” Millwee said. “Jayden will play hard, dive for loose balls and play with as much effort as anyone on the court.” Westmoore’s path to the postseason will run through the Joe Lawson Memorial Invitation in Norman on Dec. 7-9 and the John Nobles Tournament in Moore on Jan. 18-20.
