Isabella Little always liked the water. Her parents wanted to find her a new sport
because they worried about the strain of gymnastics on her body. Swimming was a
natural choice and Isabella has never looked back.

Now a senior at Westmoore High School, she is in cross country and track but her true
passion is with swim. “I have been a competitive swimmer for most of my life. That
combined with meeting some great people and coaches along the way have helped fuel
my passion,” Isabella said.

The best part of representing Westmoore as an athlete is that, “it allows us to directly
effect how people view our school,” she says.

Swimming has taught her leadership, time management, perseverance and community
building skills. “I love constantly having someone to talk to and the unity we all have. We
work for each other, not just for ourselves. It’s also where you meet your closest
friends,” says Isabella.

Freshman year team captains, Madi Howe and Elise Abraham had the biggest impact
on Isabella. “They were very open and welcoming and made sure everyone had a good
time. They really led by example, working hard and pushing themselves, while
encouraging us to do the same,” she said.

Isabella is most inspired by her cousin, Cameron. “Despite starting to play football late
in high school, he went to a D1 college and now will enter the NFL draft. He’s a
demonstration of the fact that you don’t necessarily have to do your sport the longest to
be good. You just have to work hard,” she said.

Isabella looks up to Olympic gold medalist, Michael Andrew because he is bold in his
faith and uses his platform to show his love for God. Her favorite teacher is Ms. Cole.
“She always made sure everyone knew and understood what she was teaching and
seemed to really care about how well we did in her class,” she said.
In addition to athletics Isabella is also involved in NHS, drama, fine arts, and her church.
