Q&A with Westmoore’s Nicolette Langhans – Presented by Silver Leaf Animal Hospital

Westmoore’s Nicolette Langhans

VYPE: Nicolette, what grade are you in this season and what position are you playing? When did you start playing basketball?

Nicolette Langhans: I am a junior and a play shooting guard or point. I have been playing basketball since 6th grade.

VYPE: What’s your outlook on the upcoming season?
NL: My personal outlook or attitude towards life and basketball is to be positive. Everything happens for a reason and if you do your part the rest will fall into place. Trust yourself!

VYPE: Do you have a favorite subject in school and a favorite teacher?
NL: My favorite subject would have to be English, that definitely doesn’t mean I’m great at it, but I love writing!

VYPE: What makes WHS a great place for you as a student-athlete?
NL: Westmoore is a great place and home because it’s ours. We are a community with flaws, but that’s what makes us unique and united. The people at Westmoore make Westmoore a home!

VYPE: Is there a current or former teammate who has left an impression on you?
NL: All my teammates are incredibly talented, and we make each other better every day. I have always been impressed by all of them, and past teammates including Blythe Crawley show effort and commitment to the game even behind closed doors!

VYPE: Which teammates keeps everyone laughing and who is the most serious?
NL: In my opinion Dee and Kyiah is always making the team laugh, but we all try to lock in and be serious.

VYPE: How do you mentally prepare yourself to compete?
NL: I try to stay ready so my process for preparing for games isn’t lengthy. I tend to calm down and trust myself and team.

VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates and do you play any other sports?
NL: I love my teammates on my team because we are all working towards the same goal, success. I also have grown to understand each of their personalities outside of basketball and they all are genuinely kindhearted people. I also play club and Westmoore soccer.

VYPE: What is your goal for life after high school?
NL: My goals after high school very but my main goal is to be true to myself and stand with all the decisions I make. I really hope I can continue my basketball career in college at a high division and also attend to school that nurtures my future.
